GHD is looking for senior professionals with heavy industrial experience with power plant, mining or water projects. We have a number of opportunity for power, mining and water projects in Australia for Chinese clients. Initially the design for these projects will be carried out in Australia. This work represents a good opportunity for Chinese electrical engineer to become familiar with Australian codes, standards, regulations and normal working practices. Following on from this initial work there will be opportunities for designing similar projects in China.
Primary Functions o Investigations and studies. o Feasibility studies o Basic design and costings. o Detailed plant design and documentation o Technical translation o Technical interpretation
Qualifications o Tertiary qualifications in engineering. o 10 years (minimum) experience, with at least 5 years experience with design, construction or operations of power generation plant, mining plant or water plant. o Detailed knowledge of Chinese engineering standards and work practices. o Fluent in mandarin and chinese writing o Very good English verbal skills and good English written skills.
Specific Skills and Experience - Essential o Design experience with HV and LV switchgear, drive systems, cabling, bus ducts, transformers, earthing and protection. o Detailed knowledge of relevant Chinese and international standards. o Experience using Microsoft Office applications o Experience within the power generation, water or mining industries
